Understanding Domestic and Family Violence

Domestic and family violence can manifest in numerous ways, impacting individuals regardless of gender, culture, or socio-economic background. It's crucial to recognise the diverse forms this violence can take, including physical, sexual, verbal, emotional/psychological, social, financial, reproductive, spiritual, cultural, neglect, coercion and stalking. Awareness of these manifestations is the first step towards addressing and preventing violence. If you find yourself in a situation threatening your safety or well-being, remember that immediate help is available, including emergency services (000) for life-threatening situations and various support services for crisis care and advice.
